FCMB Enhances Human Capital development through e-Learning
In its drive for world class standards in service efficiency and delivery,
First City Monument Bank Plc (FCMB) has successfully deployed a highly
revolutionary computer based online integrated training portal designed for the
training and manpower development of its human capital.
Nana Odejayi,
Head, FCMB Training Academy said the e-learning platform which went live on July
13, 2009 aims at getting staff trained anytime and anywhere, ultimately to
improve organizational efficiency, product knowledge and delivery and, provide
quality customer service.
The feat, FCMB said was achieved by working in
partnership with New York based Edcomm Group.
FCMB’s e-Learning is
conducted via electronic media, especially via the Internet. The e-learning
platform runs on a Learning Management System called Learning Link with a
courseware comprising of 46 functional banking courses and 30 Soft skill
courses.
With the implementation of the platform, employees would be able
to access and download training materials from any location, at any time and
most importantly learn at pace comfortable for them. Through the same system
also, employees can also be tested on the training materials to affirm
assimilation and in-depth knowledge of what they have learnt.
Nana
Odejayi, further explained that the shift from traditional mode of learning to
the rapidly growing movement towards e-learning is motivated by the many
benefits it offers such as increased productivity, reduction in learning time,
decrease in training cost, performance support and performance tracking. Other
benefits include logistics ease and flexibility, higher retention, global
opportunities and boosting of individual learning habits.
As a world
class organization, we align ourselves strategically to global best practice
which is in favour of driving our training programs through multiple modalities.
The e-learning channel is a mode of training First City Group has successfully
subscribed to for competitive advantage.
